Description: Learn how to make three classic chains out of fine-silver wire. Students will learn the basics of classic chain making, create a figure-8 connection, then finish off the class with a classic loop-in-loop delicate chain. Additional session offered Wednesday morning, June 4 (B08153).
Project will be completed in class.
Student must be at least 16 years old to register for this class.
Supplies to Bring: 6-in. ruler, anvil, awl, bench block, chasing hammer, flush-cut wire cutters, jeweler’s saw, #2 saw blades, task lamp. Tools: Blazer micro torch, kiln brick, quench bowl, fusing tweezers; or students can purchase tool kits from the instructor in class for $115.00 (e-mail instructor prior to class).
Pliers: Bentnose, chainnose without grooves, flatnose without grooves, nylon-jaw wire straightener.
Materials in Kit: 12-, 14-, and 20-gauge fine-silver round wire; handouts; assorted hand tools.
Limit: One seat per person per class.
