Technique: Metalwork, Wirework
Description: Create soldered jump rings, ear wires, fancy headpins, and embellished S clasps. Learn to twist wire and make elegant jump rings and headpins. This is a fun class and a simple start to succesful soldering. Students should wear cotton clothing, close-toed shoes, and tie back long hair.
Project will be completed in class.
Student must be at least 16 years old to register for this class.
Supplies to Bring: Bench block, chasing hammer, flush-cut wire cutters, steel scissors (Fiskars recommended), safety glasses, magnification as needed.
Pliers: Chainnose, flatnose nylon-jaw, long roundnose, standard flatnose.
Materials in Kit: All gauges of sterling silver wire, solder, flux, sterling silver Bali beads, solder pick, solder board, fine tweezers, butane torch, butane fuel, paintbrush, wood dowel rod, instructional handout. Instructor will bring some tools and materials to use in class.
Limit: One seat per person per class.
