Description: One of the most beautiful chain-mail weaves is the Byzantine weave. It is also one of the most versatile with hundreds of variations. Students will learn the basic Byzantine weave, which will allow them to make gorgeous necklaces, bracelets, and earrings. Once the basic weave is learned, you will go on to use a variation of the weave to make an unusual and visually stunning watch. The variation can also be used to make an elegant bracelet. The project is done in sterling silver, including the timepiece.
Project will be completed in class.
Student must be at least 16 years old to register for this class.
Supplies to Bring: Task lamp, work surface.
Pliers: Chainnose without grooves, flatnose without grooves.
Materials in Kit: Sterling silver jump rings, sterling silver quartz movement timepiece with warranty, sterling silver safety clasp, watchmaker’s pin tool.
Limit: One seat per person per class.
