Technique: Wirework
Description: Learn the ancient technique of Viking knit, then take it to the next level. Students will explore the different possible uses of wire-woven rope and choose from several different handmade clasps to finish off the bracelet. They will be amazed at how easy the weave is and how impressive the different possibilities are!
Project will be completed in class.
Student must be at least 16 years old to register for this class.
Supplies to Bring: Awl, flush-cut wire cutters, masking tape, pad, tape measure, task lamp, work surface. Optional: lampworked beads for embellishment.
Pliers: Bentnose, chainnose,. Instructor prefers Lindstrom, long roundnose, nylon-jaw wire straightener, standard flatnose. Instructor prefers Lindstrom,
Materials in Kit: Mandrel, drawplate, sterling silver wire, clasp, end caps.
Limit: One seat per person per class.
