Technique: Enamel
Description: Learn to fire enamel on cut-copper tubing to make unique beads. Preparation of the metal and basic safety will be briefly discussed before the hands-on firing of the beads. Custom additions to make interesting designs and patterns in the beads will be used as time allows. Class involves the use of a torch with open flame and gases. Wear safety (didymium) glasses, cotton clothing and closed-toe shoes. Tie long hair back.
Project will be completed in class.
Student must be at least 18 years old to register for this class.
Supplies to Bring: Didymium or safety glasses, mandrels, personal lampworking tools, terry-cloth towels, tweezers, canvas or heavy cotton apron, task lamp.
Materials in Kit: 15 pre-cut copper bead blanks, enamel for in-class use, dust mask.
Limit: One seat per person per class.
