Technique: Basket Weaving, Wirework
Description: Using a basic twining technique, explore the possibilities of creating small wire baskets. You will learn to add feet, add coils for texture, make handles, embellish with beads, and finish with a flair!
Project will be completed in class.
Student must be at least 18 years old to register for this class.
Supplies to Bring: 6-in. ruler, bench block, chasing hammer, flush-cut wire cutters, pen, tape measure, pounding pad, task lamp. A variety of beads will be available to purchase for embellishment. The finishing will be an exploration, and extra wire will be available to purchase.
Pliers: Long roundnose, small chainnose, small flatnose, small roundnose. Instructor prefers Lindstrom.
Materials in Kit: Sterling silver wire for a basket up to three inches.
Limit: One seat per person per class.
