Technique: Glass and Lampworking
Description: Create a wide variety of floral designs while strengthening your beadmaking skills with our 2008 commemorative bead artist, Kim Fields. Techniques include encasing, assembling canes, precise dot and stringer placement, and refining bead shapes. Class involves the use of a torch with open flame and gases. Wear safety (didymium) glasses, cotton clothing and closed-toe shoes. Tie long hair back.
Project will be completed in class.
Student must be at least 18 years old to register for this class.
Supplies to Bring: Didymium safety glasses, notebook, tweezers, large mashers, jeweler’s tweezers (micro point), graphite paddle and/or graphite stump shaper, tweezer mashers, brass stump shaper, razor blade tool or small knife, tungsten pick.
Materials in Kit: Effetre glass rods, goldstone, silver leaf, stainless steel chopsticks.
Limit: One seat per person per class.
