Level: Beginner Maximum Class Size: 16 Class Fee: $245.00 Technique: Glass and Lampworking Description: Learn the basics of glass bead making using a hot head torch. Students will learn how to shape beads and apply surface decorations such as dots, rake the glass to create intricate patterns, apply gold/silver leaf, and incorporate dichroic glass. Studio setup and safety will also be covered. Class involves the use of a torch with open flame and gases. Wear safety (didymium) glasses, cotton clothing and closed-toe shoes. Tie long hair back. Additional sessions offered Wednesday, June 4 (B08623), Thursday, June 5 (B08624), Friday, June 6 (B08625), Sunday, June 8 (B08627). Project will not be completed in class. Student must be at least 18 years old to register for this class. Supplies to Bring: Paper, pen, non-tinted safety glasses or didymium glasses. Instructor will provide basic lampworking tools for use in class. Materials in Kit: Moretti glass rods and stringers, gold leaf, silver foil, dichroic glass strips. Limit: One seat per person per class.
