Technique: Glass and Lampworking
Description: Are you ready to freshen up your home with handmade glass knobs? This class will teach you how to make stable glass knobs for your cabinets and furniture. Beyond learning great knob techniques, the class will emphasize stringer control, heat and flame control, and sculptural techniques. Class involves the use of a torch with open flame and gases. Wear safety (didymium) glasses, cotton clothing, and closed-toe shoes. Tie long hair back. Additional session offered Saturday morning, June 7 (B08744).
Project will be completed in class.
Student must be at least 18 years old to register for this class.
Supplies to Bring: Didymium or safety glasses, graphite marvers, large parallel masher, personal lampworking tools, tweezers, raking tools.
Materials in Kit: Osibin lentil shaper, knob mandrels, Moretti glass, bead release.
Limit: One seat per person per class.
