Level: Advanced Beginner Maximum Class Size: 12 Class Fee: $245.00 Technique: Glass and Lampworking
Description: Learn to use basic shaping and color manipulation techniques to create brilliantly colored pendants in borosilicate glass. Students will use both colored rod and frit to create a handful of pendants, including the instructor’s signature turtle. Class involves the use of a torch with open flame and gases. Wear safety (didymium) glasses, cotton clothing, and closed-toe shoes. Tie long hair back.
Project will be completed in class.
Student must be at least 18 years old to register for this class.
Supplies to Bring: Didymium or safety glasses, graphite marvers. Basic lampworking tools will be provided for use in class.
Materials in Kit: Four rods (10 in.) of boro color (indigo luster, amazon lagoon, carmel luster, black pearl), three rods (12 in.) 10 mm boro clear, one rod (48 in.) 6 mm boro clear, small bag of frit size 38 (amazon bronze).
