Technique: Glass and Lampworking
Description: Create spectacular blown beads with amazing colors and shapes. Learn to use a variety of borosilicate glass colors and techniques to create hollow beads. The instructor will share his vast knowledge of working with the challenging technique, which will enable students to succeed. Class involves the use of a torch with an open flame and gases. Wear safety (didymium) glasses, cotton clothing, and closed-toe shoes. Tie long hair back.
Project will be completed in class.
Student must be at least 18 years old to register for this class.
Supplies to Bring: Didymium or safety glasses, writing materials, favorite lampworking tools.
Materials in Kit: Five rods of various high silver- and copper-content borosilicate glasses, several varieties of frit from the above palette, various sizes of clear borosilicate glass, two puffy mandrels.
Limit: One seat per person per class.
