Technique: Metalwork, New Technique
Description: Students will learn techniques for etching copper and brass to create one-of-a-kind pieces. Etched metal can be used “as is” in jewelry designs or for texturing polymer and metal clays. Additional session offered Friday evening, 5:00-8:00pm, B08427
Project will be completed in class.
Student must be at least 16 years old to register for this class.
Supplies to Bring: Bowl (small), metal files, reading glasses, scissors, old shirt, safety glasses, small towel, toothbrush, task lamp.
Materials in Kit: Copper and brass pieces, use of ferric chloride etchant, resist materials, baking soda, steel wool, disposable latex gloves, tape.
Limit: One seat per person per class.
