Description: Create a ring of many textures to wrap around your finger. Students will explore several techniques to create texture and patterns on their wire, then shape and finish the ring into a chunky but wearable ring. Two rings will be completed in class. Additional session offered Wednesday morning, June 3 (B09116).
Project will be completed in class. Student must be at least 16 years old to register for this class. Supplies to Bring: Bench block, cutters, masking tape, ruler, task lamp, safety glasses, metal ring mandrel, rawhide hammer, bench block pad, 1-lb. hammer. Optional: steel design stamps (some will be provided in class to share).
Pliers: Chainnose, nylon-jaw wire straightener.
Materials in Kit: Fine-silver wire for at least two rings; patina; polishing and texture materials; use of instructor’s torches, quench cups, tumbler, tools.
Limit: One seat per person per class.
